Tis’ the season of glee, so I’m bringing to you
Another tune to remember what you should do.
It’s important to prepare for wintry conditions.
You can leave this job up to our auto technicians.
The guys at the front are friendly and wise
They explain services due and help prioritize
What are the things that need immediate attention?
And what services are needed for health and prevention?
The biggest concern that should be top on your list
Is how safe your car is—here’s where we can assist!
A digital inspection will be done on your car or your truck
When safety’s involved don’t just leave it to luck.
But before you come in, assess your vehicle yourself.
What do you see, hear or feel—be an investigative elf!
Your observations are key to fixing your car right
So keep a record of symptoms for the day and at night.
Do your headlights illuminate the roadway ahead?
And do your tires have the right amount of tread?
Does your vehicle stop well when you apply the brakes?
Do you bounce all around or does the steering wheel shake?
There is so much to consider when safety’s involved
But you must fix your vehicle until all is resolved.
There’s suspension and brakes and the right kind of tires—
Your car may need diagnostics or replacement of wires.
My friends, these are issues you must fix right away
To keep you and many others safe on the roadway.
Failure to do so might be a risky decision
It could cause a tragic accident or fatal collision!
Once you’ve taken care of known safety concerns
Automotive repairs needed are next in turn.
Your car is important—you rely on it a great deal
To get to work or to home or to go get a meal.
What needs fixing today so you’ll have a trusty ride?
Does it run really rough or has your battery died?
Are there warning lights on—do they stay solid or flash?
Relay everything to us that you see on your dash.
How about your comfort—does your car keep you warm?
Does your heat blow well during a cold winter’s storm?
Heat is important—and not only for your toes
But to defrost your windshield those day and nights where it froze.
There are spark plugs, cat converters and alternators,
Coil springs, fuel pumps, starters and radiators,
Or perhaps you need an engine or transmission today
These are things that Santa can’t deliver on his sleigh!
There are so many more systems that might need repair
But listing them all would take much time to share.
So instead I’ll move on from repairs to prevention.
There are a few maintenance items that I’d like to mention.
Car maintenance is decided by age and how you drive it
But also by miles and your particular climate.
In Minnesota we have extremes unlike other states
From negative 30 to 100—depending on the date.
Does your car manual explain all of this to you?
Or is it a general guideline for what most states should do?
My friends, you must always be mindful of this
So that you know how to alter your maintenance list.
Do you perform your oil changes when they are due?
And how about the other fluids that need service too?
When they are dirty they don’t lubricate and protect—
In fact by that time many parts may be wrecked.
Clean fluids are key to keeping your car a long while
Saving you money in the long run and making your smile.
But fluids are not the only things on the car maintenance list
There are several other services you’ll not want to miss.
Do you know the others that should be done on time?
And not just after they decay or become full of grime?
There are a few different filters—cabin, fuel and air
And also belts and hoses that breakdown and wear.
How about the things that you don’t need to replace
But may need to alter and possibly adjust into place?
I’m talking about air pressure, balance or a tire rotate
And wheel alignment to roll down the roadway straight.
I’ve spent time compiling this list with a fun little rhyme
So that you will be mindful of getting your vehicle serviced on time.
May you go forth this winter in your travels here and there
With safe and healthy vehicles—and being car care aware!
I wish you a glorious Christmas and Happy New Year too!
I pray the grace of God has blessed your family and you,
For He is the One we celebrate in this season of glee
It’s not about what to buy and put under the tree.
He gave us His only Son years ago on Christmas Day
So that in human form He could show us His good way.
Jesus is the True Vine and the Great Bread of Life
He shows us all how to live without anger and strife.
He is our Savior, Lamb of God and Prince of Peace
He is our Redeemer, Our Hope and our Great High Priest.
He is our Messiah—who forgives every day me and you
Showing us to forgive others and have a heart that is true.
He is the Good Shepherd and the Bright Morning Star
His love, mercy and grace are the best gifts by far.
He is the Light of the World and God with us—Immanuel
He invites us to drink from His Word—the Living Well.
He is the Great “I Am” and is so Faithful and True
He came to this world to save me and you!
He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords
It is eternity in heaven that He points towards.
I hope that this season you’ll reflect on all of this
For our lives lived in Jesus are full of such bliss.
If you don’t know Him and would like to meet Him today
Come down to my office so I can share Him and pray.
